Add and arrange blocks
Add blocks to the right slot, select and edit them, reorder or duplicate safely, and remove content at the intended page or shared scope.
Blocks are the content units inside a page's template slots. Add and arrange them from the correct page, then verify both the hierarchy and the rendered canvas.
Before you begin
- Open the intended page through Content > Pages > Edit.
- Confirm the page name in the editor header.
- Know which slot should own the new content.
- Check whether existing content is page-specific, shared, or inherited from a master page.
Use Blocks and Tree together
| Surface | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Blocks | Browse and search available content types |
| Tree | Inspect slots, nesting, and the current block order |
| Canvas | Select content and see the immediate draft result |
Add a block in the intended slot
- Select Add Block in an empty slot or an insertion control such as Add block at the end.
- Choose a block type such as Heading or Text.
- Enter a meaningful Block Title and complete required fields.
- Select Add Block.

Select and edit the block
Select content in the canvas. The right panel shows its title and type, plus Edit Template, Duplicate, Up, Down, and the Content, Style, and History tabs.
Use Content for ordinary copy and data. Use Style for the supported visual options. Edit Template is an advanced template change, not a normal copy edit.
Move blocks precisely
- Use Up or Down in the side panel.
- Use Move up or Move down in the canvas toolbar.
- Use the Drag to reorder handle for direct pointer or keyboard sorting.
Reorder only after Tree confirms the block's slot and parent. Moving a container moves its subtree.
Duplicate without creating confusion
- Select the source block and choose Duplicate.
- Immediately rename the copy.
- Change its content and verify the original remains independent.
A duplicate is a separate copy. It is not a shared-content relationship.
Remove at the correct scope
| Choice | Impact |
|---|---|
| Remove from this page only | Unlinks a shared block from the current page |
| Delete from all pages | Deletes a shared block everywhere it is used |
| Delete from Master Page | Removes structure from every page using that master |
Broad deletion may be irreversible. Choose the smallest scope that matches the task.
Confirm autosave and layout
- Wait for Saved · just now or All changes saved.
- Compare Tree with the canvas order.
- Switch the device selector among Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.
- Check spacing, nesting, controls, media, and overflow.
Recover safely
- Use Up or Down to restore a recorded order.
- Remove an accidental duplicate from this page.
- Correct an autosaved field and wait for the saved indicator.
- Use Discard Draft Changes only when every unpublished change can be lost.
- Restore a published version for wider recovery, then preview and Publish separately.
Next steps
- Edit block content in the live editor.
- Preview the complete draft before publication.
