Outcome

You will establish a coherent starting brand without changing content structure: default template, colour mode, preset, site icon, and logo.

RecoveryRecord the current template and settings before saving

Preview an active page before and after every brand change.

Open Theme

Go to Settings → Theme. The top controls expose Site Color Mode, Theme Presets, tabs for Templates, Colors, Typography, Elements, Effects, and Layout, plus Reset and Save Changes.

Theme starts with colour mode, presets, and the current Default Template in one reviewable screen.

Choose Site Color Mode

  • Light fixes the public site to the light palette.
  • Dark fixes it to the dark palette.
  • System follows each visitor’s device preference.

System is useful only after both palettes pass contrast and image checks.

Choose the Default Template

Open Templates and review Current before changing Default Template. This setting affects new pages; existing page assignments must be checked separately.

Apply a Theme Preset carefully

A preset can change several design values at once. Preview its light and dark swatches, apply it only on a development site, and inspect all Theme tabs before saving.

Set colours and typography

Use the dedicated Colors and Typography tabs. Prefer semantic colour pairs and rem-based readable text. Follow the linked colour and typography guides for detailed checks.

Set the Site Icon

Go to Settings → Site Settings → Branding. Under Site Icon, choose an Image, Text, or Emoji source; review shape, padding, scale, Theme Color, and Live Preview; then use Save Draft and Generate All Assets when approved.

Under Site Logo, choose or change the Logo Image and enter meaningful Logo Alt Text. The alt text should name the brand, not describe decorative pixels.

Save and verify

  1. Choose Save Changes in Theme.
  2. Open the public homepage and a content page.
  3. Check desktop and narrow widths.
  4. Check Light and Dark when System is enabled.
  5. Verify the browser icon, header logo, focus states, and text contrast.

Undo or recover

Use Reset only after confirming which unsaved changes it will discard. Restore the recorded template and values, save, then verify public pages again. For Branding, return to the last approved source rather than regenerating blindly.

If the brand looks inconsistent

  • Check whether the page overrides the Default Template.
  • Compare both colour modes.
  • Confirm the logo asset and Logo Alt Text persisted.
  • Check cached public output in a fresh anonymous session.

Publication gate: another reviewer must verify template inheritance, icon variants, logo accessibility, light/dark contrast, desktop, and narrow output.
