Set up a standalone site

Set up a new standalone BlockNinja site once, carefully. This path creates the first Superadmin and moves the instance into normal administration.

Use this guide only for a new standalone site. If you launch your site from the BlockNinja account portal, follow Set up a managed SSO site instead.

Before you begin

• Confirm the site is a new standalone deployment with no admin users.
• Prepare a public site title and an optional description and domain.
• Generate a unique password and store it in a password manager.
• Use fictional details for any training or screenshot replay.

Choose the correct setup path

Welcome: start fresh

1. Open the site's admin address. An unconfigured standalone site opens BlockNinja Setup.
2. At Step 1 of 5: Welcome, select Start Fresh.

Restore Backup is a separate recovery path. Use it only with a verified archive, its password, and an approved restore plan.

Create the first Superadmin

1. At Step 2 of 5: Admin Account, enter First Name, Last Name, Email, Password, and Confirm Password.
2. Select Next.

The first account receives Superadmin access. The form requires at least eight password characters; use a longer unique password generated by a password manager.

Set the public site information

1. At Step 3 of 5: Site Settings, enter the required Site Title.
2. Add an optional Site Description for search results and social shares.
3. If the public domain is known, enter it in Site Domain without https://.
4. Select Next.

Site Domain supplies canonical URLs. It does not configure DNS or prove that HTTPS is ready.

Decide whether to create sample pages

At Step 4 of 5: Sample Content, review Create Sample Pages.

You can edit or unpublish starter pages later, but review them before sending visitors to the site.

Complete setup

1. Review the account, site information, and sample-page choice.
2. Select Complete Setup.
3. Wait while BlockNinja creates the account and configures the site.
4. At Setup Complete!, read any Warnings and review the summary.
5. Select Go to Admin Dashboard.

Completion starts on the next step without another confirmation. Do not select Complete Setup until the values are ready.

Verify the result

• Dashboard opens without returning to setup.
• The first account has the intended Superadmin access.
• Settings > Site Settings contains the intended title, description, and domain.
• If sample pages were enabled, Content > Pages contains Homepage, About Us, and Contact.
• Every public starter page contains accurate, intentional content.

Recover safely

Before completion, use Back to correct a value. If completion shows Setup Failed, record the visible message and stop repeated retries. Setup can create the first account before a later operation reports a problem.

• Try the normal standalone login or password recovery if the account now exists.
• Correct public values later in Site Settings.
• Edit or unpublish unwanted starter pages through Pages.
• Send support the safe error, time, and reproduction steps—never the password, archive, database details, or an identifier.
