Welcome to BlockNinja
Learn which BlockNinja surface owns your task: the public site, BlockNinjaCMS, the managed account portal, or an installed plugin before making changes.
Outcome
You can identify the part of BlockNinja that owns your task, open the correct screen, and avoid making a site change in the wrong place.
Access
Anyone can visit a public site. Viewer, Admin, or Superadmin can sign in to BlockNinjaCMS as their role permits. The BlockNinja account portal applies to managed sites and has its own account access. Plugins are optional unless a task names one.
The four BlockNinja surfaces
| Surface | What it is for | Typical task |
|---|---|---|
| Public site | The website ordinary visitors see. | Read a published page or post. |
| BlockNinjaCMS | The admin application for one site. | Edit pages, posts, media, menus, theme, data, and permitted settings. |
| BlockNinja account portal | The account service for a managed site. | Manage sites, plans and billing, domains, and SSO access. |
| Plugin | An optional extension installed into a site. | Add blocks, templates, admin pages, data, or an integration. |
A standalone site may not use the account portal for normal administration. A plugin can add a visible CMS destination, but it does not become a separate site or grant a higher role.
How the surfaces connect
- The CMS stores and publishes the content and configuration used by one public site.
- The public site serves the published result. A saved draft or temporary preview is not automatically public.
- The account portal controls the managed relationship around a site, including account access, plan, billing, and domain administration.
- Installed plugins extend the CMS or public site through permissions and capabilities reviewed by an administrator.
BlockNinja is the whole platform. Use BlockNinjaCMS when you mean the site-management application.
Choose the right surface
| If you need to… | Start here |
|---|---|
| Change a page, post, image, menu, theme, Table, View, or Workflow | BlockNinjaCMS |
| See what ordinary visitors currently receive | Public site |
| Change a managed plan, billing setting, domain, or SSO member | BlockNinja account portal |
| Install, inspect, configure, or remove an extension | BlockNinjaCMS, Administration, Plugins |
- Sign in to the CMS for a one-site content or configuration task.
- Use Search anything if you know the product label but not its sidebar group.
- Use View live site in the CMS header to inspect the published public result.
- For a managed account task, return to the BlockNinja account portal and follow the dedicated plan, domain, billing, or access guide.
Before you make a change
- Check whether the action saves a draft, publishes immediately, changes account access, affects billing or DNS, or approves plugin capabilities.
- Confirm your Viewer, Admin, or Superadmin role is appropriate for the task.
- Review plugin provisioning and outbound network requests before approving them. Installing a plugin is not blanket consent.
- Never paste passwords, tokens, billing details, personal data, internal hostnames, or record identifiers into search or a support report.
Check the result
- Open the public site in a signed-out window and confirm no admin navigation or draft content appears.
- Return to the CMS and confirm its sidebar and header tools apply to one site.
- Use Search anything to find a CMS destination without changing it.
- Open Plugins and confirm each installed extension has an explicit status.
- On a managed site, confirm account-portal tasks are separate from editing public content.
If you opened the wrong place
- Use browser Back, then choose the owning surface from the task table.
- Do not repeat a consequential action such as Publish, Restore, domain changes, billing changes, or plugin provisioning.
- If access seems wrong, confirm the identity type and assigned role before creating another account.
- If an operation is already running, preserve its visible status and use the task-specific recovery guide.
